Please do not send text messages, unless otherwise agreed upon. I will not respond to texting, unless you gave prior consent to send and receive texts. Any text message I receive from you becomes a part of your legal record.
Social Media Policy
Social Media is public and your privacy cannot be guaranteed. You have a choice as to what you reveal about yourself online.
Friending on Social Media
If you are a client, past or present, you are welcome to follow me on my professional social media accounts; however, I will not follow your account back for confidentiality purposes. In addition, when you follow, post, comment or like a page, it may reflect that you did on your page as well. I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any personal social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Clubhouse, etc.). Adding clients as friends on these sites can compromise your confidentiality and our therapeutic relationship. Please consider this and engage at your own discretion as you risk breaking confidentiality by doing so.
Following on Social Media
I will not follow any client on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Clubhouse, blogs, or other apps/websites. If there is content you wish to share from your online life, please bring it into our sessions where we can explore it together.
Messaging via Social Media
Please avoid sending direct messages through social media platforms. I do not consistently monitor, nor have the capacity to respond to direct messages on Instagram, LinkedIn or other social media apps. To reach me directly, please contact me via email or phone. Search Engines
It is not a regular part of my practice to search for clients on Google, Facebook, or other searchable sites. An exception could be during a crisis. If I have reason to suspect you are a danger to yourself or others and I have exhausted all other reasonable means to contact you and/or your emergency contact, then I may use a search engine for information to ensure your welfare. If this ever occurs, I will fully document the search and discuss it with you at your next session.
